There's like 22in and a bunch of inches to choose from. Is it the wheel size? And what is the diffence between a bigger size (22 inches) with a smaller size (15 inches)

There are several areas where that might affect (inches).

I think you're refering to frame size, in which the distance measured is the length between the bottom bracket (where the pedals join the frame) and the point where the top tube (the highest horizontal tube) meets the seattube. A 22 in frame would be for very tall riders.

On wheels, usually larger wheels go faster, roll over obstacles a little bit better, and smaller wheels accelerate faster and turn faster. Mountain bikes mainly use 26 inch tires, but some bikes use 29 inches, and some 24 inches in the rear wheel.

It depends. Childrens bikes are measured by wheel sizes. There are 12, 16, 20, and even 24 inches. This represents the inside diameter of the rim.

Adult bikes are measured by frame size since wheel size is fairly standard (700c for road and 26 inch for mountain). The 22 inch size you see is probably frame size. It is generally measured from the bottom bracket to the top of the frame. It could differ from brand to brand.

BMX and kids' bikes are the only ones that use the wheel diameter as the bike measurement. Real bikes go by frame size, and are measured in inches or centimeters depending on the bike.

The good people at your local bike shop are very happy to show you exactly what to look for and get you onto the correct size frame, so go visit them!
