How about a white dove with an olive branch in its mouth: it's elegant and you can have it stylized so it's unique too!

Kuan Yin is the goddess of compassion... Buddha eyes symbolize compassion with that squiggly right below and between them or any writing in Tibetan or some other language you like would work... just if you're going for Chinese and/or Japanese talk to someone who can read their lettering to make sure you're getting the CORRECT symbols... places do get 'em wrong.

Why don't you take the money you would spend on a tattoo and give it to a poor family? Tattoos are ugly.
One shows compassion through deeds not tattoos. This IS a serious answer, just not the one you want to hear.

I have the Virgin Mary on my left forearm. That may not be for you but that is in definace of the "Christians" who lied and said that God will be pi$$ed off at you for getting one.
