Your preparer should have asked you if you owed back child support. Since you do, you were not qualified to apply for the "rapid refund" since your refund is likely to not be issued to you.

Your refund loan will be denied if the bank finds that there is an offset for child support. In addition, if your refund is taken for child support, you will owe the tax preparation firm for your tax preparation.

Well, your refund very likely will go toward the back child support if the paperwork has been filed to do that. If it does get taken, your rapid refund will probably be turned down - if by some chance you get it, then you'll just have to pay it back to the bank that handles the rapid refund loans, since they won't get paid by the IRS with your actual refund.

It depends upon how the court system has you paying back child support. I believe that the tax refunds can be seized. I'm curious as to how they inform you of where your refund went if they do take it.

If you owe back child support and file your taxes it will be taken to pay back the child support payments. Check and see if there is a debt indicator at the US Tresury offset Department. Go to irs.gov and look for the debt indicator, then follow directions.

Yes it will. Depending on what state you live in, there may be a form you can fill out to legally get half of it back though, if you filed jointly
