You get the same amount for 2 or more children when claiming the EIC. You can claim all 3 on the child tax credit, and you can also claim 3 exemptions. So yes you should get a larger refund for claiming 3 children instead of 2.

Claim as many dependents as you legally have to claim. Only the EIC and the dependent care credit max out with two kids. Dependency exemptions and child tax credits are given for as many kids as you have. So if you have 3 kids that you are eligible to claim, you should claim them.

you can only claim up to two children on the earned income tax credit and i believe two is also the limit on the child tax credit also

2 count for the EIC, all count for the child tax credit, its income related and is not usually limited unless you have five children or more.
