I was looking on the internet and i was just looking and i found this in a christian article. I'm wiccan and find this very offensive. Why are we still being seen this way?

The following Tuesday, at a meeting of concerned Deacons, Pastor Deacon Fred explained, “Wicca, is just a fancy word that insecure unsaved teenagers who hate their parents use to describe their little club.” Landover Baptist has thousands of Christian moles placed in covens, chat rooms, and schools all across America. “They feed us some pretty gruesome stuff about Wiccans,”said Pastor Deacon Fred. "From what we can gather, like Jewish people, Wiccans kidnap Christian children and drink their blood to seal their commitment to Satan." Deacon Fred continued, "My guess is that the little Devil worshipper who slipped into our Sunday Morning service last week, did so because she got some inside information about what we were going to release on our website this month."

That almost sounds like a joke of some kind. It's hard to tell, though, because that's exactly the types of things that SOME Christian leaders tell each other and tell their parishioners to frighten them into hating anyone of any belief system other than their own. You should see some of the stuff they have out there against atheists. I saw one ludicrous page of propaganda where they told children, "If you ever see an atheist, RUN and TELL a parent or a pastor as SOON as you can!"
This type of thing is a classic brainwashing technique. Some of these people are psychotic.

LMAO!!! I love reading that story! They have more crazy stuff at their site that is just plain rediculous and silly. Go ahead. It's okay to laugh.

www.landoverbaptist.org is a satirical website created by an Athiest named Brian Harper (a.k.a. Pastor Deacon Fred). The site was created to poke fun at fundamentalist and extremist Christians. They also have biblical passages that, according to today's standards, might be considered to be porn, violence, incest, rape, murder, horror, terrorism, etc. Some of the biblical scriptures are just hilarious! Check it out! You'l see that after further reading the site is way to silly to be a real baptist church. Blessed Be!

Bright Blessings,

P.S. The fist time I saw it posted at www.witchvox.com I thought it was real too. But, somehow, the actions of the fake Baptist church seemed just a bit illegal and rediculous.

yes, this is a joke site, and a hilarious one at that. Really. It's sarcasm. It's Satire. Read the rest of the articles. They call Catholics, "Pope loving, bead counting, ring kissing, altar boy buggering, genuflecting, Mary worshipping, candle lighting, superstitious folks who get marital advice from men who wear skirts." It's a joke. You'd probably actually like this site, once you read and enjoy it in its propper light. These guys are about as Christian as Steven Colbert is Conservative!

We really need to try to have a sense of humor about this kind of stuff. For example, I was in Barnes and Noble tonight, and I stumbled across a book of the "Most Evil Secret Societies." The book contained chapters on some truely evil stuff -- the KKK, the Thule Society that Hitler was a member of, the mysterious and widely feared Illuminati (If they ever really exsisted), and right there between the Illuminati and the Thule Society was Aleister Crowley's A.:A.:! Now, I am a Thelemite. I study the Magick and Philosophy of Aleister Crowley. I am an initiate in the O.T.O., another secret society once headed by Crowley, and therefore connected to the A.:A.: -- and there it was, my tradition, my spritual path, catalogued in a book of the Most Evil Secret Societies. At first, for a split second there, it pissed me off. Then I thought, hot damn! I'm evil! How cool is that? So, as soon as I saw the humor in it, it became something to be proud of. Or, at least, amused by.

Sweetie, Landover Baptist is a spoof site, of Christian Fundamentalists.

They're making fun of Christians. Not saying bad things about Wiccans.

I'm not going to categorize you in any way, but you know the old saying "One bad apple...." The fact is, the FBI reported in 2001 that outside of Salem, Oregon, a missing child's body had been found three days after the little boy went missing. His chest had been opened up savagely and his heart and liver removed. The local police and FBI assigned to the case apprehended the three murderers who were known members of a group of Wiccans in that area. So, you may not ascribe to such satanic behavior and practices yourself, but some of your brethern do. The reason why wicca is placed on that list is because of incidences like this one.

I'm not a wiccan myself, but I do know some people who practice the faith and if this article is genuine nothing could be farther from the truth.

Landover is a parody site.

I know it's hard to tell them apart from real froth-mouthed fundies, but it's just a parody.
