He might calm down some with age, but not from being neutered. It's a very hyper breed - you need to live with it.

Jack Russells area high energy breed with a long life span. They may mellow slightly after being fixed- but don't expect that much difference. Puddin Jack Russells are more mellow than regular ones, but each dog is an individual. I would suggest just getting used to the high energy level of your dog, and definetly taking them to training.

Not necessarily!
The thing is about neutering, it eradicates behaviour caused by the sex hormones - it doesn't act on behaviour in general. Jack Russells can be very hyper, and if it's not to do with sex, castration won't calm him down. Besides, you neutered your dog to help with his long-term health didn't you ;-)
Dogs mostly calm down with age, but this might not be until he's at least 4! Enjoy his madness in the meantime, its fun!

No. I have owned three JRTs that have been fixed and none of them have calmed down. Even old age won't calm them down. Give your dog a lot of exercise, and I emphasize A LOT!

I have a terrior mix and he was nutoured. Sexually, they calm down, but hyperly, they don't. He's still a puppy and loves to play. When he gets older that hyperness will fade somewhat.

well, mine didn't. he got fixed when he was 6 months old, and he didn't calm down at all. right now, he is 2 years old, and he is a bit calmer. when dogs get older they will calm down.

My experience is a big NO. They are very, very active dogs, need lots and lots of exercise, walking and play and something to keep their minds busy at all times.
