Take your dog to the vet right away. it could be kennel cough, heartworms, enlarged heart condition, heart congestion, problems with its throat, something stuck in its throat. And we can't see your dog. So call the vet in the morning and get this see right away.

Your dog could have worms that it is trying to cough up! If you can try to get a stool specimen . Place it in a container and place it in the refrigerator over night. Take the dog to the Vet. tomorrow to be checked out. The stools can be checked for worms.
Your dog could have kennel cough if it has been around any other dogs.
There are many other reasons for the cough.

He might have Kennel cough. My puppy had the same thing. The vet gave me some amoycillan for her and it helped alot. And we also gave her like cough medicacine I know crazy but the vet told us too and it helped her alot just make sure it doesnt have Alcohol and Asprin. It helped her cough she loved the taste and it helped her sleep haha. Just make sure you have the vet check it out ASAP because it could get deadly FAST!

You can take him to the vet to stop this.

At best it sounds like kennel cough, which needs medication. At worse it could be symptoms of a heart condition. If he seems worse after exercise, this is a fair sign of heart problems.

I would recommend taking your dog to a veterinarian. This is a sign of several different illnesses including advanced heartworm disease, kennel cough or bordetella, upper respiratory infection, or even tracheal spasms or collapse. Your local vet would be able to properly diagnosis the situation.

this kinda sounds like kennel cough and go to the vet for a antibiotic to get rid of it.

i agree sounds like kennel cough my german shephard was treated for it off and on over ten year's it finally ruined her throat and put to sleep at ten year's of age, get to the vet for treatment quick

My dog had the same thing, check for lumps in the throat. It could be cancer.

I have a min pin doing the same thing. it goes away quickly and sometimes is not that bad... today her coughing and snorting went on for a while and it scared me. like she was gasping for air. i told me vet she called it reverse sneezing... but i don't know. the vet has not seen an occurrence. my min pin is really little - toy size min pin about 5 pounds
