Even if he stood before me in the flesh and said so, I wouldn't, because it's morally wrong. No way would I harm the ones I love or any innnocents for that matter. That's insane.

Airon professes that he would indeed kill those he holds dear to his heart and examples such as these are why we atheists are concerned about the topic of religion. The power of it is so enormous that it could compel people to do heinous things and those committing these acts see no problem in it whatsoever. How? Because they feel empowered by some "Holy force" and it justifies their acts. Truly terrifying. Seek some help Airon, you need some.

I'm not Christian, okay, but, listen: if all of these christians truly, truly, truly have no doubts about their beliefs - than they would. If they put so much trust & faith & love in God and truly BELIEVE in HEAVEN & ETERNAL LIFE than why the hell not? God is trusting that their faith will be strong enough to see them in Heaven waiting and still living in peace. Look at Christians who have lost their children or loved ones - some of them are the first to BLAME God, rather than believe and have faith that they will be waiting in Heaven. (This is why it's all a bunch of hogwosh - cuz when it comes down to it - God is a hope, a dream, a wish........a hope.......)

Pontius,
You are looking at the picture too close up.
Stand back.
God is the Creator.
If he asked you to give up your own life, or even a loved one .....knowing he is the Creator and capable of re-making you, what's the big deal?
You only have a hang up if you think this life is all there is.

Well it depends which god your talking about too, your talking about the bloodthirsty christian one correct?
then it would make sense that he would ask that...
but to answer your question of course not
but there are people who would, i went to church once (the girl i had a crush on asked me to--and even then it was the same as any other time) and her dad (the preacher(I really couldn't be screwing up more i know now lol))
preached about if were not willing to give up everything to *him* then we don't deserve to go to heaven...that's about the only part i payed attention to because i was thinking what if you were a king, and you had to destroy and kill everyone in your kingdom to go to heaven....why would you do that?
that's selfish, cause then they don't get a chance to go to heaven...and why would god purposefully kill so many as a test to let one in?
and i know i have a good point there!

Ummmmm I don't think so the bible says thou shalt not kill wiccian law is Do as you will but harm none... Nope not a chance. Any God who asked that of me would have to go through me first! Besides the Gods/Goddess gave us a brain they meant for us to control our lives, we have the answers when are we gonna start hearing the answers?

Bob Dylan wrote a song about that. I don't remember the exact lyrics but it went something like this;
God said to Abe, I want your son.
Abe said God, this should not be done.
That's ok Abe, but if you see me, you better run!
Abe said, God, where should this killen be done?
God said, down on highway 61
You may not know yourself, as well as you think...

I agree. Only a melicious entity would want proof of such faith, not the entity of all love and forgivness. He wouln't need proof, he'd know without it.

Depends on the god, I suppose. Since there are none around, I really can't say how I would like, let alone follow, a real one.

Since I'm an atheist, I'd just ignore him because I have no faith.
But I would drop atheism and turn deist because he finally shows himself, but I wouldn't give the creep the time of day.
