There are two things i know.
When the flying serpents attacked israel, God had Moses erect a bronze serpent, and if people could look towards the serpent they would be healed from the poison.
And when Moses layed his staff on the ground it turned into a serpent and devoured all the sorcerers serpents.
So? do we have to learn sorceries in order to defeat such evil and criminal behaviour?

First: I do not feel there are "evil spells" yet there is definite evil. God all knowing has provided His Children with the "FULL ARMOR OF GOD" for protection against the enemy, Satan and his forces. The Belt of Truth - The Breast Plate of righteousness - Shoes fitted with peace - Shield of Faith (to stop the fiery darts aimed at us by Satan) - the Helmet of Salvation and the Sword of the Spirit (which is the Word of God) this is found in Ephesians 6:10 through 17

This is a question related to spiritual warfare and you need to learn how to properly bind and loose principalities and powers. This includes pleading the blood of Jesus and praying for God to have his angels help you in the spirit dimension. So look for books and websites for spiritual warfare.

They were shadows pointing to Christ. See John 3. Jesus cast out spirits with His Word. Also look at the sorcerers in Acts. to see how the New Testament church deals with it. Research how the Christians in Africa and Haiti deal with Satan, witchcraft and spells. They cast them out in Jesus Name!
