I worked for NASA and on ATS3 the microwave antenna had to point at the earth all the time. The ATS3 satellite was spin stabilized at about 50 rev per min. So the antenna had to despin to allow us to communicate. The barring and seal was made of a brass housing and wafers of Teflon and brass . ON one ind was a spring to help tighten it. In space u can not use lubricants as they will evaporate . The Teflon is the lubricant.
