To take care of your pup is not cheap. She is going to be a part of your family. It has been a while since I went through the puppy thing as my youngest is now 4 years old. But as best as I can remember it was around $100 to get the female spayed. The males were cheaper. The initial puppy shots and vet visits will run a couple hundred bucks. After that you can figure a hundred plus a year for booster shots and rabbies shots. Then there is about $140 for Frontline or some other flea and tick control. It will run $60 a year for Heartguard. So you are looking at about $300 a year to take care of that pup the way she should be taken care of. Then you have to hope you do not get into a serious situation. My little Pit, and the other two, got into the garbage and she swallowed a corn cob which blocked her intestine. It was a $3000 surgery to save her life. But like I said at the start she is part of the family, one of my babies.

Honestly only the vet can answer that question since different vets can charge different prices for the same thing. But figure it like this.
The first year is the most expensive. Puppy shots, rabies shot, heartworm preventive.
Spay one time operation. Probably the most expensive. But guaranteed to work
Vets have changed they way they do shots now and some offer a 3 year rabies after the first year and other shots every 2 years. But discuss this on the phone in advance so you don't get sticker shock.

It just depends! I live in Central California and I spent 14 bucks at my vets shot clinic for my dogs rabies vaccination (it will last 3 years) but you don't have to worry about that vaccine until the pup is 6 months of age.

All your puppy will need are 4 'booster' combination shots for the first year, (your vet may only give 1 or 2 of these because he/she has a higher dosage available). I paid 12 bucks for each booster shot. On top of this, a kennel cough vaccine is only necessary if you plan on boarding the dog somewhere even for one night. So that one is up to you. Research vet offices because some charge a fee to walk in the door and be seen by a doctor, treatment or not! In my case, I had to pay 30 bucks just to have an office visit.

I would set aside 100 bucks for your dog to be spayed/neutered. Hopefully it will cost you less than that.

Hope this helped..

I would estimate at least $150-200 to spay, if she isn't already. For shots, tests, etc I would estimate between 400-500. Flea/tick treatment, another 40 or so, (I'd go with advantage, it treats heartworm too.. once your pup is old enough) A good idea is to look into Banfield, The Pet Hospital... they are found in every petsmart.. and they have "pet wellness plans" its like 11.00 a month, and it covers most of that stuff... For a puppy... it might be a LITTLE more, but also covers spay surgery. I have it for my cats, they had $300 worth to fcheck ups and shots, and i paid nothing for it all, just the wellness plan fee. You can google them Hope this helps

It would help to know your state.. I am in California.
We have shot clinics for dogs and cats once a month in most towns. Call the local shelter they ususally have the location and times. They give deals for multiple pets. I did a search on line and they run $10.00 a shot.
Some vets without the fancy frills can cost up to 2/3rds less than the vets with the carpets, potted palms and receptionists. I go to a one man vet office.. everyone comes at 9am.. we all know the routine. Shots run the same as if I went to the once a month clinic. Get recommendations from people who have gone to the local vets you can usually figure out who you want to go through other people's experiences.

i think we probably spent $300 - $350 in the first 3 months. You have to return every few weeks at first for more shots (in series). As far as fixing her I don't know. It is going to cost us $90 to get our dog neutered. I think it is more expensive for the females. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. I am in Ohio by the way. My bill may have been a little more expensive than yours will be. My puppy had worms. I probably could have found a cheaper vet but my vet is good to my little Chopper and to me it is worth the extra cost.
