We actually know what Jesus looked like by this:
"When the fame of our Lord Jesus Christ came to Abgar, the ruler of Edessa, who was suffering from leprosy, Abgar sent a messenger named Ananias, through him asking the Savior to heal him of his disease, while bidding Ananias bring back a depiction of Him. When Ananias came to Jerusalem, and was unable to capture the likeness of our Lord, Jesus, the Knower of hearts, asked for water, and having washed His immaculate and divine face, wiped it dry with a certain cloth, which He gave to Ananias to take to Abgar; the form of the Lord's face had been wondrously printed upon the cloth. As soon as Abgar received the cloth, which is called the Holy Napkin (Mandylion), he reverenced it with joy, and was healed of his leprosy; only his forehead remained afflicted. After the Lord's Death, Resurrection, and Ascension, the Apostle Thaddaeus (see Aug. 21) came to Edessa, and when he had baptized Abgar and all his men, Abgar's remaining leprosy also was healed. "
This is the story of the holy napkin, the first icon:made not by human hands, but by God. The holy napkin was used as a guide for all icons afterward. go to goarch.org for more information, or to look at icons of Jesus.
go type in 'orthodox icons of Jesus' on any search site, and it will show you many paintings('writings') of Jesus

The Bible never gives any physical description of Christ. The closest thing we get to a description is in Isaiah 53:2b, “He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him.” All this tells us is that Jesus’ appearance was just like any other man's – He was ordinary-looking. Isaiah was here prophesying that the coming suffering Servant would arise in lowly conditions and wear none of the usual emblems of royalty, making His true identity visible only to the discerning eye of faith.

Isaiah further describes the appearance of Christ as He would appear as He was being scourged prior to His crucifixion. “His appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man and his form marred beyond human likeness” (Isaiah 52:14). These words describe the inhuman cruelty He suffered to the point that He no longer looked like a human being (Matthew 26:67; 27:30; John 19:3). His appearance was so awful that people looked at Him in astonishment.

Most of the images we have of Jesus today are probably not accurate. Jesus was a Jew, so He likely had dark skin, dark eyes, and dark hair. This is a far cry from the blond-haired, blue-eyed, fair-skinned Jesus in many modern pictures. One thing is clear: if it were important for us to know what He really did look like, Matthew, Peter and John, who spent three years with Him, would certainly be able to give us an accurate description, as would His own brothers, James and Jude. Yet, these New Testament writers offer no details about His physical attributes.

To the Father, He looked like the beloved Son;
but to the Devil, He looked like the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.
To me, He is altogether lovely.

At his crucifixion, He is described thus:
" Just as there were many who were appalled at him [—
his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man
and his form marred beyond human likeness— " (Isaiah 52:14 - written 700 years before the fact)

Concerning His daily appearance, He is described thus:
" He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him." (Isaiah 53:2)

For the mature in Christ, He is viewed thus:
"So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer."
(II Corinthians 5:16)

and thus:
"The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven." (Hebrews 1:3)

It is with the eyes of the heart we must behold Him.

First of all, I DON'T believe that Jesus looked like some hippie dude! I believe he may have had longer hair, but near black, if not black itself. Beard? Can't figure that one out. Some pics show him with blue eyes! He was born in the Middle East,,,hence dark eyes, dark skin.

I imagine he looked dark, with short hair and probably sported a beard as that was a popular look at the time.

"Followed in faith by Christians?!?!?!?!?" What the hell? I used to be Christian, does that count?
