Not really. If you have an employer currently, he is breaking the law. The employer could apply for a work permit for you, but this would only be granted if they could show they had been unable to fill it from within the UK, and you would have to be outside the UK to be able to get it. Moreover, the fact of having overstayed would almost certainly lead to your application being refused. Your only way around that would be if your passport wasn't checked on departure from the UK.
Only other options - 14 years provable residence allows you to apply for leave to remain; you could claim asylum, but again the fact of having already broken the rules would go against you, even if you had a real case, which I'm sure you don't.
Sorry about this, good luck!

if you were originally on a work visa and it has expired, your employer is really letting you down, nothing you can do about it.
If you were on a different visa (student, working holiday) your employer can certainly sponsor you for a work visa. If their application is successful, the next trick is getting your leave to remain visa.
That is tricky, as you are already here illegally, in the old days you just snuck out of the country from a place where no-one checked your passport (bristol airport, dover ferry), and then came back in, as if you had been away for months and had your new leave to remain stamped in your passport. Not that I would know.

Depending on your nationality and what your previous visa was for it may be possible to resolve your situation but it will almost certainly require you to return to your country of origin and re-apply to enter UK. I am an immigration solicitor

Both you and your employer are breaking the law, you are here illegally and your employer could get in a hole lot of trouble and a very large fine.

No. You are an overstayer, and need to leave the country, or you may end up detained, and sent back against your will.
