We just moved into a new house and I'd like to fix up my dads bedroom. He's 55 and into westerns. So, I'm going for a rustic country look. Problem is...there's paneling in his room. It has already been painted an off white/creamy color. How do I use paint and make it look like old wood? Thanks in advance.

Orchard Supply and Kelly Moore paint stores have excellent classes and advice on paint and painting. Since you'd have to go to the store to get the paint anyway, I recommend asking those who know best. And bring in a photo so they know what you're working with. Depending on the room and what you want to do, you might not even have to strip off the old paint.

Have fun. And kudos to you for doing something so nice for your dad. :)

Go to a paint store and see if they have any antiquing kits. You paint the wood with a base color and then put on the finish coat with a rag and it gives it the grain look.
