um im cookin chicken and the marinade had lot of sugar in it and i dont want the chicken to burn so fast..?

what should i do..i have to cook on skillet cause pops wants it that way! ..how low should i cook it so it woulnt burn on the outside so much?? and for how long..any other tips will def help!!

Dry it off with some paper towels, sear in the skillet, and finish it in the oven.

very low heat 4 about 15 mins keep turning
