I decided that we should only support the soldiers who are in War but questioning the judgements of Bush and the illegal War. Because I noticed that there have been few so called war veterans, soldiers who are gung ho about the war and how they say Bush is God or what not. So I decided that if they want to fight and go die for Bush then why should we feel sorry for them?

No one in the US Armed Forces fights for the president.

They fight when the president orders them to since he is elected by the people of the United States.

The president is the civilian representative for the people of the US, our law dictates that he also be the commander in chief of the Armed Forces based on this.

The American people put their faith in the president by electing him to his position in the government. The military puts their faith in the president in that they expect to be ordered to do things that are in the American peoples best interest, in this role they cannot question their orders or the military would cease to operate. They cannot follow the orders they "agree" with or "disagree" with since it is not their place. They must follow orders that are legal, they are bound to not follow illegal orders based on US law, the Geneva Convention, and the UN Rules of Warfare.

You like poetry? I like Tennyson
Theirs is not to make reply
Theirs is not to reason why
Theirs is but to do and die

Personal opinions aside those in the US Armed Forces do not fight for the president they fight for the American people.

Based on that you should support them whether or not they agree with your personal view of how they are used.

Not at all. First, our military does not think of Bush as God. Also, each voluntarily took an oath when entering the military to defend this country. If you think this country would be better off without a military or police to protect the people of this nation I can only say - stay tuned, you may soon have a chance to find out!! The military forces have been reduced by over 100,000 in the past ten to twelve years and right now they're overworked and underpaid. The military today is an all volunteer force but when the US is attacked again, and it will be, I'm certain the draft will be reinstated if our country is to survive. It's mostly people who have not had to deal with war that are most critical of how it's handled.

I can't claim to know what Bush believes God told him or didn't tell him. But there were lies told by the Allied leaders, Bush, Blair and Howard. I think the war in Iraq is a mistake, and the war in Afghanistan. I think a few people have made a great amount of money from these wars. I imagine that peace is less lucrative for these few people who hold such places of power. I believe in freedom, but not protected by a state or Authority over us, if they protect it it means they have the ability to shape it, to change it, to remove it. I dare to argue that freedom is an inner condition of a human not simply a set of values which is reportedly under attack by 'Them thar Terrorists' The great faceless threat which hides in plain view is not there. Although conspiracy theories about 911 have become common place, I would urge people to think about the millions of Iraqi people who have been slain since the invasion. Boraden the term family to include all people on earth rather than just 'Our Soldiers' and suddenly everything seems very very different. Would it have been a better Idea to spend half of the money which has been spent on killing, on aid to these countries. To show these people and the world that The Allied forces are not out for what thye can steal but are willing to reach out with compassion? Oh I forgot about the oil.

Your question as well as your theory is absolutely idiotic. No one thinks he is God. Some support him some don't, just like in the civilian world. Your 'theory' would be like saying those who are republicans shouldn't have the same rights as the democrats because Bush is republican and I don't agree with him.

I'll tell you what, I disagree with this war, and maybe Bush made a mistake he won't admit to, but its no where near the soldiers faults...they're doing their job, and though they wouldn't support any of what you just said, they're still going to fight for your right to say it.

You should think further before you go blurting ridiculous, ignorant sounding ideas such as this one.

So are you saying that the ones who support Bush should not be given body armour and other protective gear?
This is a very repulsive question and it's insulting to the troops. They don't decide to go to war. The President is the commander in chief and he sends them to war. They go and do their job. A lot of them fight so you can have to freedom of speech to tell others that we should not be sorry and supportive for the troops coming back. I want the war to end and our troops come home. The question you should be asking is what you can do as a person to help end the war. "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."

I think that you exaggerate when you label Bush as 'God'. Bush is their commander-in-chief, not 'God'. Why are you calling the war illegal? Congress(including the Democrats) voted to give Bush the power to invade Iraq. As far as supporting the soldiers that are serving over there, I would support them regardless of their personal feelings as long as they do the job they are supposed to do.

No. I served the military because I believe in this country not because I believe that Bush is God. We aren't stupid, we are loyal, patriotic and obedient. It's not up to us to choose where we go or when we go there, it is an order that we have sworn to follow so that we can protect the freedom of the American people (even ones that do not support us or appreciate the sacrifices that we make for them.)

I have no litmus test to determine which soldiers I will support. Although I opposed the war, I am grateful to these men and women for risking their lives on behalf of their country. Soldiers don't have the option of fighting only those wars with which they agree. Nor, should they. The nature of military service is such that you go where you're told and fight whom you are ordered to fight. It does not matter to me what private opinions these soldiers may have. I am grateful they are willing to go into harm's way.

soliders know that bush is there boss but to say they think he is god is so terribly wrong. soliders are told to do there job like anyone else is told to do and just because we stand behind our soliders does not mean that we are gung hoe about war.

I dont know any one that is for war at all war is a terrible thing but someone has got to do it and for that i respect our troops please research before you ask someting like that people are so shallow minded they go by the media or some person off the street instead of judging for there selvs these days what happend to think before you say

They are doing a service to this country. They go and die over there so you can say you don't support them. And that's what wonderful about this country. I support all the troops all the time. I even support the Prez. There are lots that don't support the war, but they made the commitment to go to war.

Don't confuse "want to" with "have to". Most solders join the military to find something better. Going to war isn't the first option for any of them. They go when ordered, they do their job and with any luck they don't have to go back again. These patriots are doing a job that 97% of the american people won't do, can't do or are afraid to do. Show some respect and thank a vet.
