This question is for people who know about drugs. I smoke weed pretty regularly, but i was thinking about maybe trying something new. I want to try shrooms also, but mainly acid. If you've tried acid, what is it like? is it scary or relaxing? What are the negative effects? How much should i take to get a some-what mild effect but i deffinately want to have enough to get the idea. If it gets to be be too much is there any way to make it go away?

god damn it, stop giving me these stupid, closed minded anti-drug answers! i said people who have tried it! DRUGS AREN'T BAD! they open up your mind to new ideas and make you more creative. Meth, PCP,crack/cocaine, and heroine are the only bad drugs because they are addictive. You can't get addicted to weed, shrooms, or acid and you can't overdose on weed or shrooms.

I know you asked for experience only but....well some days I gotta say my piece.
I smoked pot a LOT in the past. And was a speed freak in High School (also a long time past)
I have never done Acid or Mushrooms
But my little sister ended up in a psych ward in upstate New York after her first and ONLY experience with Acid. She spent several months "recovering"
She was lucky she was able to be "stabilized" with medication. It would have been horrible for her had she been stuck in that trip indefinitely.
I think she would describe it as an opening of her mind. Part of the mind that is left closed to us on purpose. Perhaps the occasional foray into that (normally) inaccessible dimension is harmless. Would you really want to risk not being able to return to normalcy?

Ok. I suppose I have to answer, finally. I really did not care enough.
I was a biker in the 80's to 90's. I have seen, and experienced, some things that most people have not.
Pot, shrooms, and acid are NOT addictive. You are correct.
However, both, especially acid, CAN do permanent damage to your brain. I have seen it up close and personal.
No, you cannot stop a trip once it starts, yes, bad trips are not uncommon. No, you cannot ascertain an accurate "dosage". This is hardly a precise pharmacological science.
The negative affects are bad trips on up to varying degrees of brain damage. Literally. You can also have flashbacks into the drug trip at unfortunate and inconvenient times.
I have tried acid two times. I liked it but I was intelligent enough to only do it twice. I watched someone go through a bad trip and try to claw the flesh off of his own face because there were "worms" crawling in it. I, and another friend, held him down.
Want some more stories like that one?
Do you want me to tell you of people brought into the ER (I have worked in the medical field all of my life) on bad trips, requiring leather 4-point restraints? Do you want me to tell you of the patients I have seen, and taken care of, who are on mental units due to bad trips or the aforementioned permanent brain damage?
Regarding the stupid, anti-drug answers you are whining about: you asked a question on an open forum. You asked about a controversial topic, one most people are against. What did you expect? Did you expect everyone to come in here and say how good drugs are and how you should do them?
You CAN overdose on Acid and Shrooms, I am sorry to inform you.
You have obviously not done your research with your statement that "drugs open your mind and shrooms/acid/pot can't hurt you!".
Come back when you have grown up and can enter into a logical discussion.

That's your decision to make. I did a lot of it in high school and I really liked it but I'd be scared to ever do it again. It can be very scary for some people. It wasn't bad for me but it certainly wasn't relaxing at first. When you first take it nothing happens for awhile, maybe about 45 minutes, and you think that maybe it's not working. (That's when a lot of people make the stupid decision to take more, like I did) Then things start to happen. You'll walk past something and you think that maybe it looks 'weird' but you don't know why. I've never had that experience of hallucinating and seeing things that actually weren't there, like little green men, but every day objects may appear different to you.
It can get really crazy when you do it with friends because there can be a lot of confusion because everyone is kinda on their own 'trip'. I was watching TV and I swear my friend was on the Munsters. I pointed it out and she got all offended and confused. We pulled out a hunting knife once and then somehow believed we has just stabbed someone and we almost called the cops on ourselves. I went into a trance on the floor and I couldn't tell if it was for 2 minutes or for an hour. You have no real concept of time anymore. Sometimes things with patterns look a bit 3-D, other times you think that inanimate objects are moving as if they are breathing or something. You're hearing gets effected and music can sometimes sound like it's being played backward or underwater. There have been times I didn't recognize songs I knew really well. I looked in the mirror, thought I was green and saw my skin moving on my face.
You think that you 'figure things out' and finally understand how it all works. You think you're having all these revelations but they end up as nonsense conversations with other people. You can get paranoid sometimes and have no idea what people are saying to you and you think they may be 'against' you for some reason. You can't always tell if someone is messing with you or not because you don't know exactly what reality is. That's not fun.
The intense stuff lasts for a few hours and then you calm down a bit and things are a little less crazy. That part can last another 10 hours or so. I used to drive on acid (a BIG no-no) and I'd get lost and have no idea how I got places. White lights would look red and blue. It was VERY DANGEROUS. One night, after I left the party, I went home and watched some anime. It was 'Ninja Scroll' and the entire time I thought it was about squirrels. I went to bed because I thought I was done tripping and woke up the next day feeling fine. UNTIL, I went downstairs to talk to my mom and I realized I was still feeling it. If I stared too long at something, I thought it was moving. The effects lasted most of that day too, so in all, about 20 hours.
It's dangerous because you never know how strong it is when you take it and you never know when it's really going to end. Every time I did it I had a different experience so it's not dependable. I know no way of stopping it once it starts unless you go to the hospital and they try to help you. You never know how you are going to react and some people do very dangerous and deadly things. There is also something in acid that makes you smile too hard, your mouth and jaw hurts after awhile. People used to say that was strychnine, but 'supposedly' that's a myth. You also can get a terrible lower back ache the day after, in the kidney area. It can mess up your brain a bit and I've read it can permanently damage your chromosomes.

Nah, I'd get a lobotomy instead. Same result and you'll get lots of attention while you recouperate. Everyone will worry about you, and fuss over you and when you're done you still will have half a brain.
That's what I'd do anyway.
Edit: Where did I ever say I never tried them? I have tried enough to know that you CAN overdose on weed and shrooms. I've never seen anyone die from weed overdose but I've seen them become very very sick--enough they WISHED they'd die.
and yes, you can overdose also on shrooms. Acid is just as bad as those more addictive because they can alter PERMANENTLY your brain chemistry and your brain topography. You can have a bad trip 10 yrs from now because of a hit you took yesterday.
So, Mr. Einstein, take our good advice or not, but if you were truly so sure of your knowledge and understanding of these drugs, I can't imagine why you'd be asking about them here.
So, since what I've said here most likely will not suit your fancy let me talk to you from a different angle.
You seem to like to be informed and to make your decisions based on some knowledge. This alone tells me you want some level of control. You do not want to do something you will not like. Well, with your first use, you give up control. Suppose you take it and have a bad trip. There is no way to predict if you are one of the unlucky souls who will have one. It's a gamble... a lottery if you will. So, you have a bad trip and decide... No flippin' way! this isn't for me! And you decide never to take it again. Guess what? You dont have that choice anymore. Once it's introduced into your body, it can grab you by the throat and do it all over again.
Secondly, drugs, and I mean NO drug can make you creative or come up with great ideas. No drug can make your brain do a single thing it cannot do already. What it can do is reduce obstacles and your prevailing thoughts enough to allow your own creativity and great ideas to come through. This can also be done on your own with some work and effort in ways that will strengthen your own mental control and without the possible side effects and damage that the drugs can cause. So basically drugs are for the lazy, weak, and those who simply want instant gratification. Furthermore, when the drug wears off, so does the amazing creativity. By doing it yourself and making yourself better, it's permanent and you can control when, how and where you do it AND can control what that creativity creates. You do not have the control to do that on the drugs.
Your life, your gamble... your choice.
Maybe your next question should be about how to grow up.

Wow. Try it...but make sure you had a good day and your around people you like. Enviornment and attitude is key. If your in a good mood and around friends, it's all good. I remember hearing if you drink a glass of milk or eat a banana the trip fades away.
I had overall okay experiences with it...visuals were the best.
Shrooms are mostly a summertime kinda drug-I hate mushrooms so it was hard for me to eat them...buuuut it was completely different than acid. It was a better high-i luved it :)
just make sure you are in a safe enviornment and dont do anything dumb!

Try it if you want, dude. It's your life. But just a caution here: While everything else you take will eventually fade out of your system and not be "traceable," acid stays with you forever. Every drug test you take from now on will show that you have done acid.
You want to try something new?

No.
Never heard of a bad trip? Or a flashback?
You can't stop it once it starts. Even a trip that's not bad can be unpleasant.
Doses can be hard to pinpoint, especially because of the way it's applied to the carrier(paper, tablets, whatever).
