I have just want to know if there's a program out there that can convert videos to High Definiton and can be played in an HDTV.
Thanks in advance.

Off-hand, the easiest way to do it is to put your videos on DVD and then get an upconverting DVD player to do the conversion on your HDTV.

You can't. The original must be in hi-def in order for it to play in hi-def. However, most hi-def TV sets have inputs that can work with almost anything you feed into them. You just have to get the right cables. There is composit which has one wire for video and two for audio colored Yellow (video) White (left channel audio) and red (right channel audio). This is the least desirable way to go. If the player has an "S" video out plus the left/right audio, that is better. You'll have a sharper picture. Better yet is a "component" video with three cords banded red, blue and green. That gives you the best color. You will still need two more for audio left/right. If you have a DVD player with an "up converter" and has an HDMI output, one cable will plug into the player and into the TV. You should be able to play back standard analog DVDs but they will never be hi-def, just converted so the TV will recognize the signal into the HDMI input port. High Definition DVDs also come in two types. The second is Blu-Ray. It's the same thing as Sony's Beta system and VCRs all over again. In the end the consumer will decide. Unless someone comes up with a variable sample rate/sample frequency machine, all bets are off on Blu-Ray.

You need an HD-DVD authoring program and an HD-DVD recordable drive. As soon as the first PC HD-DVD drives come out, I am sure the software will be there.

it is not hard to get videos to play. They will not be HD because High Definition uses a more sophisticated recording method with more pixels and scan lines.
HD is a technology not a buzzword.
