I've been trying to do this myself just this week.
You can try saving to a pdf, then converting it with a PDF converter (free online converter at www.media-convert.com). I have a PDF converter but was not happy with the results. Different programs have different capabilities for a reason - to sell us more programs!

However, there is a work-around if you like playing with graphics. Open a blank Publisher file and a blank Word file.
In Publisher, click the Design Gallery Object button. You will find all the graphics used in Publisher sorted by category. Select those you want, copy from Publisher, and paste into Word. You can design your own or copy Publisher's layout.
