As long as you have a landline you can claim the credit but even if you do so I don't think the IRS is going to audit you for $60.00. Good luck.

Yes I had my taxes done by H and R and they gave me the credit and I have had a cell with no landline for years am not sure that it matters whether it's a cell or not. But I think I got 40 instead of 60 who knows taxes are a crazy mess good luck.

If the cell phone has bundled service that includes the long distance, or else has long distance service where you pay for each ld call, then yes you can take the credit.
