I have been single my whole life. I live with my twin sister, so I have all my emotional needs met, but still, I pine to be married. I need to face the fact that maybe I never will, but my human brain won't quit telling me to find a mate. How can I be happy where I am? Nuns can do it, so why can't I?

First off don't give up yet. I choose to be single right now so I can focus on raising my 11 year old without distrastions, I do it because I have a real problem giving up my freedom and the idea that I have to ask someone if I can do or buy something really get my goat. But really don't give up yet.

Well, first of all, I looked at your profile and it says you are 25 years old....that is so young, much too young to be writing off the possibility of marriage. If you really want to meet a guy and get married, you have to put yourself out there and start actively dating. Go on Yahoo personals and answer someone's ad, or place an ad of your own. Sitting at home with your sister and pining away is not the way to find a mate. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and start dating, you can do it!

Just like everything it has its advantages and disadvantages.

Freedom to do what you want when you want is the main advantage plus relationships can be stressful and you can get trapped.
