It is believed, that people that have poor credit histories, are irresponsible and cannot be depended on. If your credit score is low for a certain reason, and you feel that you didn't get a job because of the poor credit rating, you could call and explain what your situation was at that time. Many people have medical emergencies that cause them to have lower credit ratings, that is just an example, but it does show that you weren't irresponsible, it had to do with the costs involved.

It is important to a future employer because they want to know how good you are at handling money..
This is important because incase you are ever promoted to a higher position in the company which pays more and comes with a lot more responsibilty eg. the company's money!! They want to know you can be trusted to make mature and responsible decisions regarding finances..

I have no clue!
My credit is always checked as a part of my background checks when I get a new job. I don't deal with money.
When my credit was crap, I was never denied a job either.

People with credit ( $$$ / finance ) problems tend to have a higher incidence of embezzlement , employee theft , etc . . . so they are a higher risk for problems .
