if you get down to 55 what you said, DYING TO MEET A CUTE BOY will be just that, you will DIE!
125-130 is a good weight. I was 120 and size 9. 5'6" guys would tease me that i was so thin i looked like a zipper, a telephone pole, and on and on. Not all guys think that is a cute look. No guy likes to hold and hug a boney girl! And when it comes to other things, its painful for you and them... if you know what i am talking about!
The tip i have for you, go to the dr. and find out what is the best way to lose a few pounds at a time. If not that, go to a different doctor and tell him you are not happy with yourself.
and if a guy only likes you for your looks, he isnt worth having at all.

Fad diets, like Atkins, are often only designed for the short-term. Atkins puts your body into a state called Ketosis. "Most medical resources regard ketosis as a pathological state associated with chronic starvation."* Carbohydrates are the basic fuel your body runs on. A diet is not something you go on to lose weight, it's your eating lifestyle.
The basics of a healthy diet are easy.
1. Eat as many meals as possible. The more meals you eat though, the smaller each should be. Eating 5 meals a day for instance increases your metabolism about twice as much as 3 meals a day. I've known of people that eat up to 14 meals a day.
2. All things in moderation. Portion control is a lost skill, especially among Americans. The serving sizes on Nutritional labels ARE accurate, even though most people don't think so.
3. Variety is the spice of life. The more you vary your diet the easier it is to eat healthy. Try new vegetables and fruits in particular. Or try cooking new things.
4. Avoid "fast food" like the plague. NOTHING in fast food is healthy, not even the salads.
5. Avoid foods that are white. Long grain rice instead of white rice. Wheat bread instead of white. Avoid sugar and salt.
6. Baby steps. Take small steps to change your eating habits. Switch to diet soda one week, the next switch to wheat bread, etc. Changing lifelong eating habits is difficult. And don't get discouraged if you relapse, everyone does. Just try, try again.

First of all, 55 lbs is about the size of a child, so you'll be more likely to attract a child molester after which you'll probably die of malnutrition. (not to mention, you'll have an extremely large head, seen Nicole Ritchie lately?) I'm sure your a very pretty girl just the way you are. If you want to lose weight, do it for your health, not for a guy, and don't lose too much. If a guy doesn't like you the way you are, then he's not worth your time.

I'll give you a tip of sorts: guys don't always like a girl who's ridiculously skinny. 55lbs meets the "ridiculously skinny" category. Why don't you post a question polling guys about what kind of body frame they're looking for? I can practically guarantee you that they'll say 55lbs is way too thin.

did you mean 155 lbs? because 55 lbs is impossible. my sister just bought a english mastiff PUPPY and she weighs 75 lbs. As for meeting a cute boy, act yourself, have confidence, and you will attract who is right for you. It's like advertising in a magazine, if you advertise falsely you will attract the wrong guy(for you). Advertise YOU by being YOU and you will attract Mr.Right.

The best way to address your question is by visiting your doctor and asking for his/her advise.
You may also want to talk to a nutritionist or a psychiatrist.
