The short answer is, "Making sperm is cheaper and easier than eggs."

The longer answer involves evolution. It would be bad if both genders had reproductive cycles because then you could only procreate when the two cycles align. Instead men have a several parallel cycles that constantly makes new sperm (the cycle is on the order of hours).

FYI: Women don't HAVE to have their period. If you take hormone birth control and never take the placebo pills and instead continue straight through it with real pills, you won't have your period (my sister has been doing that for the last year or so). The 5 placebo pills are in the pack because the doctors thought women would still want their period.

First off, since the woman is the one who's body is capable of sustaining life (men can only help create it), the PMS is the hormonal changes which allow for your body to expel the old lining of the uterus since there was no fertilization. This comes in the form of your menstrual period. I know it's not comfortable, but it is life and while each woman handles the discomfort differently I am certain their men feel it almost on the same level as they do. So if you are saying in a nice way that you wish men would suffer too....BELIEVE ME...WE DO. Thats what pms seems to always be about...making sure we share in the joy of your pain by creating emotional pain for us.

Men's and women's bodies are built differently.

The woman's womb fills with blood in preparation for pregnancy. If her ovum is not fertilized, this extra blood is washed out in a process we call menstruation.

Since men don't have wombs and cannot get pregnant, there is no reason to menstruate. Besides, if we did, there would be no way for the blood to leave the body, since we do not have the proper orifice.

Because they don't have to carry children...the "blood" in women's menstruation acts as a lining when a woman becomes pregnant. Men, not being able to have children, simply have no use for it.

Although in my human sexuality class my teacher did say that men sometimes can have symptoms similar to PMS.

did you graduate HS? if so, you should know this, but if you didnt learn it, it wouldnt surprise me. women have different levels of hormones than men. these hormones trigger the menstruation process. when a fetus is in utero it gets bombarded with hormones and depending on the kind and amount of hormones it is exposed to is either becomes male or female or something in between. you have to be female to menstruate because females are the ones who get pregnant, obviously!

The menstrual cycle for women is in preparation for getting pregnant. If you don't get pregnant before the end of your cycle, then your body gets rid of the blood through menstruation. So, men would have menstrual cycle if they could have babies, but they don't because it's not the way their bodies are made.

Biology 101--they don't have the parts for it. It might not seem fair, but then again, we don't have to worry about holding a notebook in front of our crotch after a pretty girl walks by in school or explaining to mom why the sheets need washing.

It's just one of the physical differences between men and women. There's no other way to explain it.

They would never be able to go through the terrible cramps and giving birth the way they act once they get just a little bit sick!
