I do not believe in god so why would I believe that there is a son of god? There may have been a man named Jesus about whom the stories and legends of the bible are based.
That Jesus does not concern me. He was at most a man who threatened the Roman Leaders of the time because he was descended from a line of kings. Or he was the first hippie. Could have been both.

I'm an atheist for one simple reason: I don't find any need to justify myself or my principles through following the herd, so to speak. Granted, religion may bring some happiness, but the majority of people who claim to be religious are so because they were raised in that environment and taught to believe in nothing else. I'd love nothing more than to go up to some of these people and have them raise their hands if their parents practiced the same religion as they do.

No credible evidence to show he ever existed. Not one piece was ever written about him from contemporary writers and over 30 writers have been verified as being living in and around the area that jesus lived and not one ever even mentions his name. The only times you ever see something written is from somebody the wrote a scant mention and that was done some 50-90 years after the supposed jesus died. Which amounts to nothing but hearsay. Hearsay is unreliable as evidence, so it discounted as useless.
The jesus story is not credible in my book. All fiction.

I believe there was a dude wandering around that provides the model for the Jesus mythos, but I certainly don't worship him. I am not Middle Eastern, so I do not worship Middle Eastern Gods or follow their cultural and religious paths. Just makes more sense for me to follow a path based on my culture rather than a foreign one.

Not as in the 'Son of God' thing, since you ask.
In fact, I'm still to be convinced that there even was such a person as the man. So, no.
Reasons? No belief in God and no evidence other than 'prophesies' (which, as anyone who had heard of Nostradamus knows, can be interpreted in many different ways), third-hand books and letters years after the 'events'.

I believe that Jesus existed, he was a real person not fictional. However, I don't worship him. There's a big difference.

I'm right on the side of the person who pointed out that many of the worst ills in the West nowadays all result from the lack, in first century Judea, of adequate mental care.

I believe he was a moral philosopher, but not the son of God. Why would an omnipotent God need a son? Can he not communicate with each of us directly with a mouthpiece if he chose to?
