This happened to me the Halloween of 98. Some friends and I dressed up as The Spice Girls and I was Posh. I had blonde hair then and used a wash out black die; only to find out black won't wash out of blonde hair.
I washed it several times and it didn't fade. I ended up buying a hair dye stripper (that turns your hair bright organge) and then dyed it with the shade of my choice. Finally it was a success. I was able to find all I needed at Walgreens.
Good luck to you!!!

If Your Hair Is Blonde Like In Your Icon, It May Take A LONG Time (Several Months) If You Need It Removed Faster Wash It More Often And Use A Deep Conditioner With A Plastic Cap For A Half-Hour. There Are A Few Products That You May Be Able To Get In The Beauty Supplies, CLAIROL® METALEX⢠OR UNCOLOR⢠Liquid (Not The Powder) That Will Remove The Color Without "Bleaching" Or Damaging Your Hair. If There Is "Staining" You Can Use A "Soap Cap" Of Powder Bleach, Developer And Shampoo. Or You Can Use A Shade Of Semi-Permanent Color SLIGHTLY Lighter Than Your Own Shade If The Staining Is LIGHT. Good-Luck!

Like the others said, it will take a bit of washes to get it to fade. Just give it a few days and by the end of the week it should be looking better. When it comes to black or brown hair dyes, just a word of experienced advice, always go a shade or two lighter than you want, because it's darker when you apply it to your hair. For some reason it's only with blacks and browns. Don't worry, it wont last forever, it'll be fine!! Smile!!

When you use a shade that is darker than your natural hair color it stains the hair shaft and even though it is semi-permanent you will have a hard time removing it. Although it will fade a few shades sooner or later and since I dont know the texture and the shape your hair is in, I cant really tell you if you need to use a shampoo cap (bleach, developer and shampoo) and then use a toner or not to. I suggest you go to a salon and let them tell you what needs to happen. Hope this helps

It depends on how porous your hair was and if it had been processed before with a perm or bleaching. If it was 'virgin' hair then it will most likely fade out within a month. Either way, you could wait about a month and use a much lighter shade. This will soften the black tones. BTW use lots of conditioner.

Probabaly a few, maybe just wash your hair twice a day for a bit. It should fade soon.

it should say on the box, hope u didn't throw that out!
just for now put it up in a ponytail and big headband so its not so overwhelming.
And if yer blonde, it will look more realistic if you do ur eyebrows.
