energy from the sun provides energy for producers, such as grass. these provide energy for primary consumers, such as insects, which in turn provide energy for secondary consumers like a bird, which then create energy for the top level consumer, like a cat

Well it goes back to photosynthesis and plants. The first part is the recycle of our air. The plant takes in the CO2 and holds on to the C atom . That is where all energy is stored . Animals ear and get the C . The leaves that fall off trees and wash down the rivers to the delta deteriorate into gas,oil,and after a long time coal. The fossil fuels are recycled.
