Not all women. Some women say they are for the attention, but quite a few women truely are. They push people away, even if they don't realize they're doing it. But some times, those women have a good reason. Others are just insecure about themselves.

It depends on the woman. You can't completely stereotype that all women are afraid of commitment because while some may be and others may not be. I personally am afraid of commitment and I can admit that but my best friend she loves commitment. Being committed to someone makes her feel like she's doing something worth while but for me commitment can be scary. It's just that feeling of sort of being closed in, almost a clastrophobic thing. Hope this helped.

For the first time in the history of our country, there are more single than married women. I don't think women are necessarily "afraid" of commitment; rather I believe we just don't think it's an absolutely necessary part of living a healthy and prosperous life. In other words, some of us don't feel like dingbats just because we aren't in a committed relationship. If you've found a woman that you would like to commit to and she isn't ready, why not sit down and have a open discussion about what it would take. If you've found a woman who really doesn't want to settle down, move on.

I think that BOTH Men and Women to a point are afraid of commitment especially in this day and age.... You have to be careful... I dunno about anyone else, But I am afraid of making a commitment due to the fact of past relationships gone bad.. When you get hurt by someone, You kind of lose trust in the opposite sex to a point and then you have this wall so to speak to prevent that hurt from happening again... So I guess what I am saying is if you have been hurt from a past relationship, Then it doesnt matter if you are a male or a female... It's hard to give yourself completely to someone again... But if you truly care about someone, you will understand and give it time and have patience.... .....

I think men and women are afraid of all kinds of things, commitment or otherwise. Lumping women into one category is unfair. It's like saying are all men jerks? Silly, huh?
