Rene Descartes was right when he postulated that because we're capable of asking a question like this in the first place, we can be certain we exist (cogito ergo sum).

As for the part of your question regarding death, death is the end of life. Living is a prerequisite to dying. Normally we think of death as the physical phenomenon we experience when our brain ceases to function (to the extent that our body functions cease).

There is a spiritual death too, but unlike the physical kind, the Bible teaches that we are "dead in our trespasses and sins" but part of the saving grace we receive at the moment of our trusting God is the giving of new life." So, when it comes to spiritual life we begin our lives as dead people but then are "quickened" by the Holy Spirit, which results in our being made alive together with Christ Jesus.

Thanks for asking this philosophical question in this section.

I feel therefore I'm real © ; )

Think of your body as a placenta with your "focus/consciousness" a separate thing. Your body can be "alive" when your consciousness shut down (anthesia, coma, etc). Your consciousness can also leave the body (out of body travelers, etc).

That part of you is like the fetus is to the placenta, with the physical world the womb.

People have always strived to improve this world so it's logical to assume the ones who have moved on before us have strived to ensure it is also a positive one.

Death is non-existence.
Its like a candle that is snuffed out.
Where does the fire go?
It simply does not exist any longer.
Jesus likened death to sleep.
John 11.
In sleep we are aware of nothing.

well, the reality i guess, i agree with you because when i was in class i was questioning"how do we know we are alive" and it was hard, so only one thing i can turn to is reality or just say that we are just here.

Physical existence without identity. The matter from our bodies cannot be destroyed, however, without the confluence of thought and body, we as ourselves cease to exist (most likely).
