With Atlanta's civil rights past and large African-American community, could African-American men and women date outside their race? Could other groups do the same (Caucasians, Asians, Hispanics)? How 'hard' or 'easy' would it be? If you're from Atlanta and have dated inter-racially, I would particularly like to hear your thoughts and experiences. Thanks!

Well I am from the south (not quite Atlanta as far as history, but still alot of pain and biggots running around) and I date mainly African American women. I am 22 and a sr in college although I was an army brat. I don't see the big deal that A LOT OF PEOPLE (MAINLY OLDER 40+YR OLD WHITES AND THEIR LITTLE RACIST KIDS) have with it. I don't really see race though, I just see skin tone. I think it would be kinda easy for Whites, African Americans, and Hispanics all to date, but not sure about Asians (those who are first generation immigrants) because of the culture barriers

I recently dated an Asian guy who lives in Atlanta. Being open to dating other races is a matter of personal choice and it is independent of civil rights movements. People who love each most often other find a way or a place where they can be together.

Well I have always dated interacially, and the first thing my aunt (who lives in Atlanta) told me was that "the black women and white men stay w/ their own here" and that we (as black women) don't date white men or men of other races. However, I found that to be bull because I know of to sista's who are married to white men right in her neighborhood.
