Like that guy from the UK said: In Europe it's not the same as in the US.
Certain Cristians will wonder what's wrong with you if you're an atheist...but I think that's not the majority. I've seen many people over the years and I've discovered you can have meaningful discussions with echother, as long as you accept you're not going to influence that person's general ideas about religion.
Of course..some people react much like some on this forum do. I try not to provoke them but sometimes it has come to a discussion, in which they will tell you how they're right and you're wrong. I have yet to hear one rational explanation from them... If I listen to them patiently and confront them with a simple problem, they might say: ''Well I can't explain it the way they do at church,'' or ''I'll ask God when I'm praying.'' The funniest thing was: ''Without God how can you even think.''

Oh, I can't remember that. If they can't come up with something worth considering and have to resort to nasty comments then they aren't likely to make much of an impact.
However I have had a few contacts here whose accounts have been deleted. Now that's nasty I think. I don't agree with that sort of thing at all.

There's been quite a lot of things.
Other than the standard insults like saying I'm stupid, and ignorant, there's the people who say that they will laugh at me when they are taken up to Heaven and I am suffering in Hell. (I get that a lot.)
I was told that I was going to be sorry when Satan was spitting acid in my face, and I was screaming in agony.
There are other things to that effect.

That was pretty nasty, and they were a female!
