Sweetie, I met my current husband playing an online game Ragnarok. I was 25 and he was 17. We were already dating, but we had never seen each other off the net. We decided we should meet...so, what did I do? I called a friend of mine and her boyfriend to go out with us. So, I was protected...and we met in a very crowdy place too. So, invite some friends to go out with u two first....even to meet his family. When u sure hes ok, u can start going out with him without yer friends. Be extremely careful.
kisses

Have you heard his voice? Had a webcam conversation?

You have to be completely, one hundred percent sure that this guy is for real.

Wait until you're 18, and make him come to you. Meet in a public place, with a couple of friends, for the first meeting.

Where on the internet did you meet him, exactly? If it's an AOL chatroom titled "UNdeR sIXteEn fUN!" or something, or certain message boards, for example, I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

It's very hard to trust people on the web. People are often not who they say.

Trust your instincts, as long as they're not blinded by infatuation. Talk to a close friend about it and listen to what they tell you. It's hard as a stranger to find out if this guy is for real without reading the conversations or whatnot, but a close friend can help you decide if this guy is worth meeting, because they're not duped by infatuation.

It's not wrong for you to like someone over the internet, but you have to accept that he might not be who he says he is. And frankly, if a 23 year old is try to romantically court a 16-year-old over the internet, it's a little bit suspicious.

Just be careful.

I think you should be carefull. The best idea is to tell people what you are doing or get a mate to come lone. Plus have a plan to get home or away. Like get a friend to call you and if you don't feel safe then you can go, but say my friend needs me, or something like that.
Just some throughts, I hope they help you.

Well sweetie, he could be 34, 44, 54, you don't know. I wouldn't do it. People are crazy, he might be some maniac that is talkting to you just to get close to you and meet you, and then you go and he chops you up into little pieces! Don't be stupid - stay where you are and stop all the texting.

As long as you're safe about it, I don't think it will be a problem. Make sure you meet in a public place, that you have a cell phone on you (and change for a pay phone), and that at least one of your friends knows where you're going and who you're meeting. Be careful, and you should be fine. Have fun!

To each his (or her) own, I guess.

If you really must meet this guy, I suggest bringing a friend along and also meeting in a public place.
