Bartending is so many things. Marriage counsel, psychiatrist, concierge, entertainer, philosopher, playboy, and of course a mixologist or legal drug dealer.

Its fun if you want it to be. I would say though that its probably the only job that doesn't really feel like a job and where the benefits can far out way any other companies best offer.

Mixing alcoholic drinks for a restaurant, pub, club, etc... And schmoozing with people, serving non-alcoholic drinks if they're sitting at the bar, and maybe taking an order for the kitchen if the restaurant has bar menus. But basically it's making stuff like martinis, margaritas, daiquiris, serving beer, shots, that kind of thing.
