People do not go to psychiatric wards to rest! In the US they are usually only stabilized with medication and therapy and then released a short time later, often just a few days later. In some cases longer treatment is warranted but this is usually done with a court hearing and subsequent court order and then for the least amount of time possible.

that's the same thing. it just depends if you consider a mental illness being 'crazy' but you're talking about the same thing, just called two different names. and yes that's what psychiatric wards are for.

its a hospital that you can go to to get rest if you have been feeling suicidal they also do some drug and alcohol rehab there. they will regulate you on your meds and help you sleep at night if that is what you need. you have individual and group therapy there that will help you. most of them are short term facilities. you will usually only stay there for 7 to 10 days unless you need more. people go there with all sorts of different illnesses from depression to schizophrenia there are usually two different wards. a icu which is for the more suicidal and extreme mentally ill and a open unit which is for people who just need rest and therapy and need to be regulated on your meds. if you feel that you need to go to one they are not like what you see on tv. they are nice places and you are treated like a human being. hope this helps

it is a place for people suffering from mental illness, they may just need to rest or may have to b looked after cus they may b voilent or unable to look after themselves. Also they can offer medicines and activities tht help they patients illness. and people hu are seen as crazy usually hav a mental illness there the same thing ! xxxx
