None of the above. Your whole life have to be 100% perfect and pure to be a leader. One such person is Jesus Christ and he is still the leader of the Christian churches. The other churches has human leaders.

You need to be able to inspire people. People will believe nonsense if the person who says it inspires them. The more outlandish the teaching, the more appealing to the masses. The logical and rational need not apply.
IQ is not as important as EQ. Church leaders need to be able to manipulate people's feelings.
