Bagel with a smear of jam or cream cheese
Granola cereal mixed into a yogurt
Baggie of granola cereal and a banana or apple
Toast with peanut butter (You could actually make yourself a PB&J sandwich the night before and eat on the way to work)
Some fastfood joints do offer healthier options... yogurt and fruit from McDonalds... is there a smoothie place near by... those are so filling and can be packed with lots of good stuff to fill you until lunch.
Good luck and make time for yourself!

Pour half a serving of orange juice into a plastic bottle and freeze. Buy 2% fat Fage Greek Yogurt (at whole foods, freshmarkets, even some major grocery stores) and get a granola or cereal and fruit you like. Portion the granola into quarter cup portions in zip loc bags. In the morning, top off the frozen OJ with fresh OK (the frozen part will keep it cool during your commute.) Grab yogurt, a piece of fruit, a spoon, napkin, packet of splenda or sweetner, granola and juice and head out the door. One the train, sprinkle the sweetner and granola on the yogurt and eat. Balanced, delicious, portable and full of protein, which will keep you satisfied a long time. Bagels and pastries are too high in carbs, and will cause your energy to dip mid morning. If you get organized (napkin, sweetener for the yogurt and spoon together in your purse already, for instance) you can make breakfast convenient, nutritious and time saving. Good luck!

Why not have a banana or some fruit for breakfast since you know breakfast is important, and also if you eat fruit, your body will feel like it has more energy throughout the day. Don't have coffee since it has a lot of caffeine and it will stop working about 10-15 minutes after you drink it, otherwise you will need to keep drinking a whole lot of coffee, so, for short, eat fruit.

Microwave a pre-made egg burrito from the night before and fill up a water bottle with Orange Juice! Orange Juice really wakes you up in the morning! I do this all the time because I have to wake up at 5:00 to get to work at 6:00. I do this all the time and it really makes a big difference. I'm more alert while I'm working!
Hope I helped!

Sometimes to be efficient you have to plan ahead. Try hard boiling some eggs on the weekends, enough to get you through the week's commute. Those are fast and easy and portable, not to mention high in protein. Stock up on fresh fruit especially bananas and apples. Also easy to grab fast and portable. I also like Bolthouse Farms "Perfectly Protein" drinks. My favorite is mocha cappucino. Very yummy, lowfat, high protein. Make yourself a batch of breakfast trail mix: mix up dried fruits (unsweetened), nuts, and seeds and package them in small grab-and-go baggies.

How about you buy or make a bagel with cream cheese and eat on the way, presuming eating is aloud. Or, even prepare a piece of toast or bring an orange or yogurt to eat on the way.

Make yourself a breakfast burrito or something similar the night before and just microwave it in the morning.

I like those Quaker instant grits. A couple minutes for the kettle to heat up, a couple minutes to reconstitute, and about 5 minutes to eat.
