In the Sanskrit language, there are many ways to say God. A good example would be - Isvara (prnounced ee sh va ra) meaning "the supreme controller". One of the most common is Krishna, meaning the all attractive One. The Vedic culture believes that God posses 6 opulences in the maximum:
all beautiful
all famous
all wealthy
all powerful
all renounced
all knowledgeable
Krishna = the all attractive one
Rama = the reservoir of all pleasure
Isvara = the controller
Vishnu = the maintainer
Jagannath = the Lord of the Universe
Govinda = the contoller of the senses, the controller of the cows (Krishna incarnated as a cowherd boy on this Earth)
and more....more...more...too many to list here.
