Forgetting that he is not just a person in power, but a person who represents and serves the American people. Personal agenda and self glorification should not come to his/her mind. Pretty much all in our government need to remember that, but sadly I don't think there are anymore Mr. Smiths. Political positions have now become career opportunites instead of public service. Plus they are also very lucritive careers as well. Just look at how much capitol is needed to get elected...I don't think we will anytime soon see a canidate who can understand what it is like to live outside of the very wealthy and have an understanding of the average persons struggles or needs.

Treading on civil liberties is one cardinal sin, and the aggressive pursuit of megalomaniacal and monopolistic power is another. Dubya and friends have pushed the envelope on both fronts, using an attack on the country as a pathetic excuse for doing both. Whenever the executive branch of government gains more power, the people lose some of theirs, because Congress represents the people. In the case of Mr. Bush, all he represents is his own unbounded ego. That's why it's imperative that the people act through their representatives to wrest some control back from the power crazed Bush Administration.

Mess with the Constitution, deceive the people, have an undermining scheme that would change the lifestyle of the people, appoint people in office that will jail good guys and fail to establish protection for the country.

Start a war with faulty "intelligence", promise it will only take a few months, only to have it last for (at least) the next 6 years, continue to allow American troops to die for this war, extend the soldiers tour of duty, spend billions and billions, ship billions of dollars to Iraq on pallets then lose it, disregard veterans and their benefits. I could go on but these are just a very few that come to mind.

The president could be selfish period.. any man who has millions of lives in his hands and his all about himself is wrong! Any president who does not follow the laws and get the same consequence as the rest of us is wrong.. I think having a president is overrated as it is.. we should move on!
