This is a direct quote from a non-Mormon, Dr. Jay L. Wile, with 2 Ph.D's in scientific fields: "SCIENCE CAN NEVER PROVE ANYTHING."
*EDIT - That wasn't really my point... my point is that you can manipulate data to provide "strong evidence" for anything that you want to. I was once at a science fair as a kid, and I at the science fair, both of whom had completely correct data, who used the information collected differently. They started with the same hypothesis, devised different experiments to test their hypothesis, but one found his hypothesis to be false and the other did not. There was extensive research involved on both sides, and all of their data supported their own final hypothesis. Likewise, you can make an equally strong case using only your data of choice that evolution must be true as you can that evolution can not be true.
I realize I'm turning this R&S question into a philosiphy/science question, but to summarize, I could say this: If we wanted to "prove" that they were Israelites, we could find enough examples to strongly support our theory. But we don't, because our religion is based on faith. If everything were proven for us, we would have had no reason to come to Earth because there would be no room for spiritual growth or improvement.
P.S. - Israel is in Asia!!!

First, DNA does NOT conclusively prove that the Book of Mormon is false. It does not claim taht the Native American Indains are the sole descendants of ONLY the Lamanites.
Next, to prove conclusively that they were NOT descended from the Lamanites, thru DNA, then, to compare, you would need the DNA from Lehi and his family, and DNA from Moroni and the Lamanites of that time. And remember, that the span of time from Lehi, to then Joseph Smith was about 2500 years, give or take. Lotta people passing thru in that time.
Like one LDS scientist said, he would be skeptical, even if the DNA proved that the Book of Mormon was what it claimes.

Nine years ago, I didn't want to listen and blocked it out. But a couple of years ago I started researching all kinds of non-DNA issues such as Joseph Smith marrying other men's wives and after a while the crazy issues added up to too many and broke my shelf. I no longer believed in the church, but I kept it to myself. Recently I decided to finally examine the DNA evidence--the first from 1996 and then the latest from 2013. Then I knew there was no hope. I have been visiting another church.

there is an entire interior of reach American tribe in Ohio that has been discovered to have a diverse Hebrew genetic marker. greater documents is coming in in this exciting modern discovery. To the authentic believer, evidence of this form, is infrequently moving in any respect. Did people who observed Jesus Christ ask for his DNA, to comprehend if he rather develop into who he stated he develop into? by the way. BYU, Utah college, and different LDS universities are frequently very heavily into scientific technologies instruction (which includes scientific appropriate DNA learn). Anti-Mormons are barking up the incorrect tree, in the event that they think of they are in a position to tutor the e book Of Mormon fake based on DNA. the place are the massive military of Anti-Mormons it rather is accumulating DNA samples to tutor their case? you're able to think of that they could fan out for the era of North And South u . s . a . of america to objective to offer their phony claims approximately DNA some small quantity of validity. they have not. Why no longer? Are they frightened of the information it rather is coming in from Non-Anti-Mormon components? you recognize that it truly is barely a count of time previously further and extra DNA evidence is available in like the DNA evidence of the interior of reach American tribe in Ohio, you do comprehend that don't you? Then what are the Anti-Mormons going to do? supply up on adultery, drugs, alcohol, mistreating their different halves after ingesting excessively, and all that different frequently Non-Mormon habit? i think of no longer. egocentric human beings continuously locate a thank you to justify their undesirable habit. in case you desire to comprehend which Church is Christ's authentic Church, you basically ought to desire approximately it to get the authentic answer. as long as you reside the commandments of Jesus Christ there is not any clarification for God to no longer answer you directly and clearly. by residing the commandments, you won't have the ability to help yet desire to connect The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. Having braveness isn't purely something that early Christians had in the days of the early Apostles of Jesus Christ, it truly is something that human beings who connect his modern-day authentic Church additionally should have. comparable as Christ's very own disciples, whilst Jesus himself walked the Earth and carried out miracles.

I'm sure someone will claim that there were errors in the testing, or that the entire study was a Satanic plot to discredit them or something...
