Parrot: Loro
Bird: Pajaro

"Polly wants a cracker"-"Polly quiere una galleta".

I had a parrot in Spain and it knew how to say "Borracho, Borracho!" ("Drunk, drunk") lol....He also knew how to say his name, "Pepito".

Polly want a cracker= Polly quiere una galleta salada.

Well it s different to have birds(pájaros) or parrots(loros) cause you can teach the parrots many words, the sooner you start the better.
People address their birds/parrots (pets in general) with affectionate words.

parrot = loro, cotorra, papagayo
