with braces, is it worth going to the city to a open call. but i have braces i have a fine bone structure.?

I don' know how much it cost you (in time *or* money) to go, but seems to me like you would get practice, even if you fail. You might also see the competition and learn something from them. Of course, you *might* get the part too.
