If anyone has heard of it and or uses it does it make you have a lot of muscles? Does it only make your legs have muscles or does it work all over your body?

Elliptical trainers are something of a cross between a treadmill and an exercise bike. Standing upright you 'pedal' or rotate your legs in strides. What is WONDERFUL about elliptical trainers is they have virtually no 'impact' on your knee joints.

As a runner - weighing over 200 lbs - I discovered that I was damaging my knees by constantly running multiple miles on a treadmill or out on the road. The elliptical trainer allows me to burn nearly the same amount of calories in the same time without the knee damage caused by 'slamming down' the leg as you do when running.

The elliptical trainer is great - especially for people who need/want to get exercise but are concerned about joint damage and arthritis complications.

The elliptical trainer is not for 'weight training' it is for cardiovascular fitness largely. If you want big leg muscles you have to do leg weight exercises - which is an entirely separate matter.

Good luck!

there are mainly two types one is just your legs but you can move your arms to get a full work out and then the other also has the arms move with the machine. but it does define the legs more then anything. to tell you the truth if you were to use this machine start off slow at a low resistance because it will hurt the first time your on it.

We have an elliptical machine and it is WONDERFUL. It really feels like it works your butt muscles and abs. It also really works your quads and is really easy on your knees if you have weak knees. I think that it is even more effective than a tredmill because you burn more calories in less time and more muscles than just your leg muscles are used.

Depending on the type of Elliptical Trainer, it tones, legs, and may tone arm and chest as well. We have one, and it works well, especially in the snowy winter months.

Ask the NASA space administration as they use this type of unit to train astronauts for space flight. It has been on TV I don't know if you know what one looks like but it's a huge ring and your strapped into it. it twists and turns through 360% in all directions. And no i have never been on one and at my age not blooin likely to be ether. Good fun though by the looks of it but don't have anything to eat before you use one LOL.

Not sure, but I think it tones legs and also gives cardio workout.
