is it ok to sleep with a bandage on my arm covering the tattoo. i got a tat and i was wondering if its ok that after i clean it and put the ointment, if i can put papertowel over it again when i sleep so idont get the ointment everwhere?

only when i sleep, is it ok that i put one back on. because i leave it uncovered allthe other times. well is it bad that i move areound alot when isleep and sometimes wind up on laying it? thats why i want to cover it

Dont cover your tattoo up after you take the bandage off. It will effect the healing process, if you want to keep the ointment from getting on your sheets, just put on a t-shirt or something so you only get it on your shirt.

DO NOT keep the tattoo covered you want it to be able to breathe!!! Take the bandage off a few hours later and wash it with MILD soap and water. You can use Lubriderm lotion (its not oily and its lotion so it absorbs into the skin) instead of ointment or tattoo goo... For me, the lotion works much better then the ointment and goo. My tats have all healed pretty quick using lotion, actually on average 3-5 days faster.

if you need to cover it, like it was said before, use plastic wrap, paper towel will just get stuck on the skin,
use A&D ointment for the first week, then switch to euderin lotion

for the first few hours you will want to cover it up right after you got it. I always used plastic wrap withsome tape around mine and it never hurt it. I wouldnt use a paper towel tho. Thats just me.

when i got my tattoos, the tattoo artist told me that you should never use anything with ointment in the name, i have used aveno lotion (the one with no scent) on mine and it worked great. i wouldn't cover it with anything either, that affects the healing process, it needs to get air to heal.

umm you could but i would perfer that u dont. Let it get some air. Sleep on the other side that the tat is on.

don't cover it with any bandage or paper towel. just wear a shirt or something that will cover it when you sleep.

you need to use nappy rash cream for this, and take off the cover/towel after 4 hours- the air needs to get at it so ic can breathe, or it wont heal properly.
