Very interesting question. I will research!

My son is a highly creative child. He is artistically gifted and particularly enjoys graphic arts. He makes stop-motion animation movies on his iMac! Not bad for a 12 year old!

I have noticed that you placed this question in the Mental Health category. Tourettes is not a mental illness.

Norepinephrine and Epinephrine are other neurotransmitters that are important to know. Both these transmitters are derivatives of dopamine, meaning they can be formed from dopamine. You have histamine, glutamate, GABA, and glycine as well. Histamine is usually released during inflammatory responses. Glutamate is a excitatory neurotransmitter that runs a lot of the actions in the brain. GABA and glycine are just the opposite in that they are inhibitory transmitters.

Not enough is known about how the brain functions, therefore this question cannot be answered at this time. I would say there is no reason to believe that dopamine has any more to do with creativity (whatever that is) than any of the other neurotransmitters.
