I drink wine with food.
Steak - Cabernet Sauvignon or Syrah
Lasagna - Sangiovese
Pizza - Lemberger
Salmon - Sangiovese
Halibut - Chardonnay
Thai food - DRY Riesling
India food - DRY Riesling
Dark Chocolate dessert - Ruby Port
I drink wine with dinner only.

My favorite wine is usually a red wine, either a South American Cabernet or a Australian Merlot or Shiraz. Some of my favorite labels are Veramonte (Chile) and Gumdale or Rosemount (Australia). And I'm not one for one kind of food with one kind of wine. Usually I instinctively match wine and food because of what I'm in the mood for.
The only time I really drink white wines is with my sushi, and then it's usually a Pinot Grigio or a Sauvignon Blanc.

For reds I even have continuously enjoyed the Italian wines of Tuscany. i'm prepared on any wines from Antinori, Banfi, Carpineto and DaVinci. I purely drank reds until eventually at present (final 3 yrs). returned my favorites come from Italy. tremendously lots any Pinot Grigio. I additionally am placing out to truly delight in manhattan State dry Rieslings. truly Hosmer and Buttonwood Grove. all the above are frequently under $40.

i almost always drink cabernets and meritages. i pair them with filets, ribeyes, prime rib, etc. some of my favorites are/have been:
1. 2001 duckhorn cabernet
2. 2002 col solare meritage
3. 2002 pine ridge cabernet (stag's leap district)
4. 2002 frog's leap cabernet
5. 2001 stag's leap caberet
6. 1998 robert mondavi cabernet
7. 2003 turnbull cabernet
8. 2002 silverado cabernet
