I would have serious doubts as to this person's professionalism. If they were truly professional, they would know how to spell, or at least have spell check. That is one of my biggest peeves, misspelling. Someone is probably trying to make themselves sound good....you know online everyone is gorgeous and rich and smart. LOL. I would go with your instincts. And I would be wary of the pushiness, too. If you continue to talk to them, just let them know you prefer to email for awhile. If they can't respect your wishes, then you don't need to talk to them.

Poor spelling, and netspeak "slang" is a HUGE turnoff to me. Although spelling isn't an indicator of intelligence, poor spelling is a sign of laziness and someone who doesn't read much. People who read a lot tend to be better spellers, simply because they know what words look like. Not to mention them apparently not having paid attention in school during English from grade school through high school.
I have declined to get to know people before, based on a lot of misspellings in the communication to me or their profiles online.
If someone cannot be bothered to try to present themselves as best they can, especially when using a text based medium, then we are probably not a good match. Spell check is easy to use and many sites have them. That would at least reduce gross misspellings, if not words used in the wrong context.
Continuing to email the person you mentioned is up to you. However if you feel they are being pushy then let them know you prefer to correspond for a while before moving to the telephone...or just politely let them know you two are not a good match, if you really aren't that interested.

Spelling in emailsor anywhere there is typing involved does not bother me. A typed email especially. Emails are meant for speed. Not everyone has access to a computer to practice typing on. I consider them typing errors. Although, I do not like formal letters or documents handwritten or otherwise to have misspellings. I feel it is a bad representation of yourself.

Hi there,if the person about whome u r talking is still stranger to you then you are right, find some more info about that person before calling them. What type of profession you hadn't mentioned here?Secondly, there are some countries like yemen, nigeria where they commit such mistakes but even they hire operators to avoid it.Thirdly, there are some spammers on web that give you lucrative offers like you have won a lottery etc. without even your participation,be aware of such person.Don't give them any personal details like your name, address, phone number etc,as it is a known fact that mostly spam mails have lots of spelling and grammer mistakes in them.So think hundred times before giving ur personal information.Be careful

I cannot stand it when people cannot use proper spelling and resort to "leetspeak" and internet slang.
Sometimes I do not mind using it, but that is usually just me being weird and wanting to mess with a friend... I would never use it in a personal ad to a total stranger.

be careful please. usually poor spelling, english and grammer means they are a foreigner and my bet it's a scam. i had a guy, age 40, professional, working abroad, and it started with messaging and emails, then phone calls, then a fake robbery and he asked me to send money. best advise i could give you and myself is always ask for a webcam to view first. I do as a rule, but supposedly he was robbed on his way to get one - the guilt trips began and after i was "scammed" - he told me he was a fake - and the photo is of someone he stole off the internet.
