It's a little annoying, but when it comes down to it, the things I know are true have empirical evidence. What is really annoying is when people insist on things that I know aren't true.

There are no universal truths and all truths are, to some extent, a matter of opinion and context. So of course there are others who have differing opinions about what is true and what is not.

For example, even something as universally accepted as 2 + 2 = 4 is false in a base 4 numerical system where 2 + 2 = 10. (base 4 would look like this: 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 12 13, 20, 21, 22, 23, 30, 31, 32, 33, 100...etc.)

I don't assume I know the truth about anything. I guess, for me, there is no absolute truth except death which is certain. And truth, how do we even define truth. If we are discussing about facts and it's relevant to the discussion that facts and only facts alone should matter then I will provide my sources for these facts and maybe even correct the person in a nice way. But truth - that's kind of difficult to insist on people. So, my reaction to this is to ask more questions about this person's reason why he/she thinks it's the truth. It does not mean I will believe his/her truth. I would just understand where I am coming from and where this person is coming from. It opens up discussion in a friendly way without looking like I-know-it-all. It does not also mean I will try to convince that person of my truth. But it does open up a lot of things for me. I can do my research and know more things - if the issue matters to me. If the issue does not matter to me, then I just let the person be.

I simply feel sorry for them, and I dont associate with them if they are going to constantly deny that anything I say is true!

I am not about "nay sayers", I am a positive force! I want to look forward, not have to look backwards all the time and constantly have to reinforce everything I say, because some "knuckle head" doesnt have the sense to realize that what I am saying is the absolute truth!

Let him/her go thier own way and leave me alone! I wont bother them and I dont expect them to bother me.

I wish you well...

Jesse

Yes, it can be frustrating, but you must accept that some people aren't willing to change those views for you. You just kinda have to accept them for that and be on your way.

I have a feeling that this is coming from an evolutionary standpoint, seeing as it is in religion. Of course, I could be wrong.

Wow deep question!

"Not all truth is meant for all men," Clement of Alexandria. This I agree with. I do not agree with his next line, "Therefore answer fools in their folly."

Can there be two opposing, but correct prospectives? Yes, If I stand to the left of a tree and the other stands to the right of the tree we see the same tree, but from different angles. And the opposing views need to be respected.

What I have a problem with is those who do not know what I know and therefore think I should only know what they know. Surrender my truth for theirs. I respect their right to give me their views and their arguments for it, and allow me to do the same. Just do not threaten me with hell fire and damnation if I do not agree with them. Do that and one can expect me to respond in kind.

I have mixed feelings. I'm glad that there are people out there with different opinions on things, but some opinions should not be had. I don't like faschists, serial killers, child molesters, rapists, terrorists, etc.

It's good to hear other perspectives, though. I like to hear new ideas.

I don't like it at all, because it brings with it a lot of persecution. But Jesus fortold that these things will happen.

Jesus said, Matthew 24:9 “Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation and will kill YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name."

It doesn't matter, cause religious belief is emotional.

If I am angry and someone else is not angry, it doesn't matter.

If I believe that God was made by Biggod, and then I see people who deny the power and glory of Biggod -- that's okay.

All I need to know is my own emotion.

Though no one can prove or disprove God's existence, our history reveals the unmistakable footprints of something greater than man.
