I have some strong evidence that anyone can understand.. This was written by David the King 900 years before Christ Jim
Psalms 22:14-18
I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

I go beyond proving credibility of the bible, the entire belief of a god being the creator of all things and actually sent his son to save mankind is illogical. The bible can be a historic text and so is the need of religions in those days are real.

The Bible's accuracy and reliability have been proved and verified over and over again by archaeological finds produced by both believing and no believing scholars and scientists. This included verification for numerous customs, places, names, and events mentioned in the Bible.
One among many examples is the fact that for many years the existence of the Hittites (a powerful people who lived during the time of Abraham) was questioned because no archaeological digs had uncovered anything about them. Critics claimed the Hittites were pure myth. But today the critics are silenced. Abundant archaeological evidence for the existence of the Hittites during the time of Abraham has been uncovered.
Bible scholar Donald J. Wiseman notes, "The geography of Bible lands and visible remains of antiquity were gradually recorded until today more than 23,000 sites within this region and dating to Old Testament times, in their broadest sense, have been located." Nelson Glueck, a specialist in ancient literature, did an exhaustive study and concluded: "It can be stated categorically that no archaeological discovery has ever controverter a biblical reference." Well-known scholar William F. Albright, following a comprehensive studies, wrote: "Discovery after discovery has established the accuracy of innumerable details, and has brought increased recognition of the value of the Bible as a source of History."
There are more than 24,000 partial and complete manuscript copies of the New Testament. These manuscript copies are very ancient and they are available for inspection NOW. there are also some 86,000 quotations from the early church fathers and several thousand lectionaries (church-service books containing Scripture quotations used in the early centuries of Christianity). In fact, there are enough quotations from the early church fathers that even if we did not have a single copy of the Bible, scholars could still reconstruct all but 11 verses of the entire New Testament from material written within 150 to 200 years from the time of Christ. Bottom line: The New Testament has an overwhelming amount of evidence supporting its reliability.

Is it a credible religious text? It must be since millions have used it as a religious guide for a 1,000+ years.
Is it a credible historical text? Not even close. Most of it has been shown to be inaccurate, vague, and even out right fiction.

There are many ways in which the bible is truly unique and special. It really is God's message to us. What is the proof?
Look into these lines of evidence:
1) fulfilled prophesy
2) scientific accuracy
3) practicality of its advice and instruction
4) preservation and availability for all mankind
5) candid, super honest reporting
6) harmony of message presented by different writers over many years
see http://www.watchtower.org/e/t13/article_01.htm
and obtain the brochure A Book For All People or the book The Bible God's Word Or Man's from Jehovah's Witnesses.

The better question is 'What proof do we have that the Bible is a credible historical text?'.

look at other religious books-100 years later they are out of date-the bible stands
\\\\
and when you get somethng that works you go with it-"Inspired by God=God breathed =I Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is given by the inspiration of God, and is profitable unto learning
I too questioned the validity & credibility of the bible. I was influenced by environment and the gene in us all to desire what is against the bible & Jesus-and went into deap bad choices, but as I Corinthians 6:9-13 says "Sinners and such WERE some of you but you have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus."
I prayed "Jesus help me, I am sorry for my sins-even one lie is a sin, come into my heart as you promised and be my frined, amen." Revelation 3:19&20 I love you and knock on your heart door to come in forgive for sins and be your friend, when you ask me in."
now life is good and I am set free from the deamons and the environment issues that helped me chose wrong. thanks to the Bible David

Example: love others and see what happens.
The Bible teaches this and though others have taught it also, still the Bible can be proven to be an original document with its Thou shall not murder, steal, lie, bear false witness, commit adultery, homosexuality, etc.
and if everyone obeyed the commandments given by God to Moses, we would not have the problems we do.
Every other teaching found in the world can be traced back to the Bible.

Not very much, if any at all. Not being any monotheistic religion, I consider the Bible a storybook that helps people learn to follow morals. Many chronological historians tend to view it as such as well.
