I'm not talking about the dvd. Only videostreams i can see from my laptop but they are not playing at the same time on my tv.

You must go to Start, Control Panel, Display, Settings, Advanced, Displays, then hit those stupid buttons near the bottom. Use trial and error. But like the guy said above, you can only see video on either tv, or lap top, at any time.
Also under Display properties under that slidebar screen resolutions, move it to the far left so it will fit your standard size tv. If you have a different tv, then screw around with the setting till you find one that makes the best fit.

Had exactly the same problem with my Toshiba Satellite. I had two identical screens, one on my laptop and one on my television.....until I played something with Windows media player and then it just showed on my laptop screen and my television screen went dead.

Had to go to video card properties and set up the television screen as the primary screen to watch on tv. A real pain because then video's would not show on my computer until I turned it back.

Try this also

Go to the properties of Windows media player
Go to Advanced
Check/uncheclk the "video overlay" box and see if it helps.
