I think you should take a lot of drinks to quench your thirst. Take lots of snacks as in food like chips, confectionery, donuts, pizzas or even salads or fruits with you to eat on the way. Do not forget mosquito repllants or ointments to protect yourself against them while camping.
Sunscreen will be a good idea for everybody in the group you're going with. Elven hours is a long drive and therefore, you must not forget crosswords, joke books or even newspapers. Don't forget matchsticks for the barbeque and matchsticks. Have lots of fun and enjoy yourself on these trips! Good luck!

I have gone one many of these road trips and have brought along the following (or I share them with you for suggestions).
For about $20,00 bucks from a store like Radio shack, you can purchase a "power inverter" that you plug into the cigarette lighter and it allows you to run electrical appliances off of it. For example, we like to bring a laptop, and play DVDs and watch movies to pass the time. You can also play video games and or computer games off of the inverter.
The girls in the car also like to run a hair curler off of these inverter, especially if we have been camping.
If reading does not make you car sick, you can bring a book or novel that way. My daughter has read most of the Harry Potter series while driving in the car.
There are also some "road games" you can play with younger children. One causes you to watch all of the signs and billboards you pass, and you try and find every letter of the alphabet from reading road signs. Another game is to keep track of all of the different USA and Canadian states you find on license plates.
Finally, if we are traveling in more than one car, we use those inexpensive walkie-talkie radios to talk to the other car with. It is fun to keep in touch with the other car, or inform them of things like the need for a bathroom break etc. It brings the other car's travelers "into" your car that way.

There are many items you can use and many you won't need. The obvious is warm clothes, food and water and flashlights. I would make a list and have each person be responsible for certain items. I always bring a first aide kit and bug spray. A battery operated radio of some type is always handy.
